O lateral esquerdo Júnior Tavares viveu altos e baixos no São Paulo. Em 2017, foi promovido ao elenco principal do Tricolor e, no começo, surpreendeu e ganhou a posição. Mas o bom momento não durou muito e, aos poucos, ele foi perdendo espaço. Agora, emprestado ao Portimonense, em Portugal, o atleta fala que ficaria contente em uma volta ao time paulista.
“Agora estou no Portimonense, e tenho tudo à disposição para um bom trabalho. Tenho muito carinho pelo São Paulo, acompanho o time e tenho contato com as pessoas. Se for para voltar, vou ficar feliz”, comentou o ala, em entrevista ao Sportv.
Aos 23 anos, Júnior Tavares recorda que, quando estava no auge com a camisa do São Paulo, recebeu uma grande proposta para o futebol europeu, que poderia elevá-lo a um importante patamar. No entanto, ele apostou na permanência no Tricolor.
“Na verdade, eu surgi muito bem no São Paulo em 2017, com o Rogério Ceni no comando. Fui o jogador que mais jogou com ele. Quando o campeonato estava na 19ª rodada, chegou uma proposta do Ajax e recusei naquela época. Então, acabei renovando com o São Paulo”, explicou.
Júnior Tavares tem empréstimo com o Portimonense válido até o final da temporada europeia. Antes, ele já havia jogado na Europa, com uma passagem pela Sampdoria, da Itália, e um período de testes no Rennes, da França. Seu contrato com o São Paulo termina no meio do ano que vem.
